Celebrating 40 Years of China’s Optical Security Industry: Holography Technology Art Works Exhibition

Over the past 40 years, how have holography and optical security technology evolved? From early laser holograms to today’s wide range of micro-nano optical structures and optical security applications, the industry has produced many remarkable works and technical achievements worth looking back on.

In October 2026, we’ll be hosting the Exhibition Celebrating 40 Years of China’s Optical Security Industry in Suzhou, China.

Holography Technology Art Works Exhibition celebrating 40 years of China's optical security industry in Suzhou, China

By bringing together holographic and optical security works from different periods, we hope to look back at the industry’s development, share technical experience, and exchange ideas about what lies ahead.

Organized by Suzhou Image Technology, the exhibition will showcase our own holographic work alongside representative pieces from experienced professionals and organizations in the optical security industry.

During the exhibition, we also plan to hold several themed exchange sessions, bringing together industry experts, technical professionals, university faculty and students, and others working in related fields.

If you work in holography, optical security, or a related field, we’d be delighted to welcome you to Suzhou. Come and explore the exhibits with us, exchange ideas, and share your experience.

1. Exhibition Highlights: Looking Back at 40 Years of Technological Development

In 1986, commercial embossed holography began its journey toward industrial-scale production in China. Over the following four decades, holography and optical security technology continued to evolve, expanding from early laser hologram security features into today’s diverse range of optical security technologies.

The exhibition will bring together more than 100 works representing different stages of the industry’s development. You can also explore our range of holographic sticker products to see how optical effects are used in practical anti-counterfeiting applications.

You’ll have the chance to see early works, such as two-step holographic recordings of Peking Opera Masks, alongside pieces featuring pixelated grating structures, relief optical devices, optical security packaging, holographic art, and creative products that explore the effects of light.

These works not only show how the technology has evolved, but also reflect the efforts and ideas of people in the industry across different periods, from manufacturing processes to design and practical applications.

All exhibits will be displayed in a static exhibition setting, so you can take your time exploring them and looking more closely at their optical effects, design ideas, and technical features.

2. More Than an Exhibition — An Opportunity to Connect and Exchange Ideas

This exhibition isn’t just about looking back at the past 40 years. We also want to create an opportunity for people who have been working in this field to meet, exchange ideas, and share their experience.

During the exhibition, we plan to organize several themed discussion sessions and invite experienced industry professionals, university researchers and students, and technical specialists to take part.

Topics will include holography, optical security processes, product applications, and the future development of the industry.

We also welcome colleagues from different countries and regions. If you work in optical security, holography, security printing, or a related field, and you’d like to learn more about the development of China’s optical security industry or exchange ideas and experience with others, we’d be happy to have you join us.

We hope this exhibition will give more works the chance to be seen, bring different experiences together, and create more opportunities for people in the industry to connect.
