Motor vehicle windshield stickers are typically affixed to the inside of the front windshield for various purposes, including vehicle registration, mechanical inspection, insurance verification, entry and exit management, and Electronic Toll Collection (ETC).

In China, there are generally two types of insurance stickers: commercial insurance stickers and compulsory liability insurance stickers.
The Shift Toward Digital Insurance Management
With advancements in digital technology, vehicle insurance processes have become more streamlined. From registration to payment, everything can now be completed seamlessly via mobile devices, supported by robust backend database systems.
This transformation not only enhances efficiency but also eliminates the need for physical stickers, making it an environmentally friendly approach.
However, in certain countries and regions where digital infrastructure is still developing, physical insurance stickers remain essential. This is especially true in border security areas where power and network access may be limited.
Insurance Sticker Validity and Design
The validity period for motor vehicle insurance stickers varies. In most regions, insurance is renewed annually, while some areas require updates every three or six months.
Suzhou Image has developed a high-quality car windshield insurance label with distinct features. The label is printed in vibrant colors such as green, orange, blue, or purple, which change each year or renewal period for easy identification.
Each sticker is marked with the year 2024 and the months from 1 to 12. When a vehicle’s insurance is registered, a hole is punched in the corresponding month. This simple yet effective design allows for quick verification during inspections and ensures ease of use for both users and authorities.
Durability and Security Features
Unlike ordinary printed stickers, our windshield labels are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions. Since they are exposed to intense sunlight, extreme cold, and fluctuating temperatures during summer rainstorms, they require high durability.
To ensure longevity, UV-resistant ink is used, preventing fading over time. Additionally, the sticker incorporates optical security technology to prevent counterfeiting and tampering.
This technology relies on nano-scale microstructures, which are nearly impossible to replicate. Any attempt to counterfeit these labels would require extensive time, effort, and financial resources, making replication highly impractical.
Integration of RFID Technology
Some windshield stickers also use RFID technology, commonly utilizing the UHF NXP U9 chip. Operating at ultra-high frequencies, this chip can be read from over 10 meters away, enabling functions such as vehicle identification, checkpoint inspections, and toll processing.
