Optical Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Series | Part 2: More Visible Security Features

In the previous article, we introduced the first eight visible optical anti-counterfeiting features developed by Image Technology. These included 1D Grating, wide field-of-view rainbow color, neon color, and so on.

For details, please refer to our earlier update: “Optical Anti-Counterfeiting Series | Part 1: Visible Security Features.”

As we emphasized before, any single anti-counterfeiting feature has its limitations and a limited lifecycle when used alone. Only continuous technological innovation can effectively address the rapidly evolving and increasingly complex challenges of today’s anti-counterfeiting market.

In this second installment, we will continue introducing the remaining visible optical security features available at Image Technology.

9. Diffractive Optical Change

This feature includes dot-matrix dynamic patterns, radiating beams, zoom effects, and rotational transitions. It works well as background imagery or decorative elements. Typical applications: ID cards, labels, textures.

10. White Diffuse Scattering (Foggy White)

This effect creates a uniform white or grayish-white optical scattering appearance, available in unidirectional or multi-angle versions. Typical applications: labels, packaging, decorative textures.

11. Achromatic Dynamics (Dynamic Silver)

This feature produces multi-angle dynamic effects without visible color tones. Typical applications: labels, packaging, ID cards, textures.

12. True Color (Full Color Reconstruction)

This technique restores the original color of an image, including mixed colors. Typical applications: labels, cards, cultural and creative products.

13. Spatial 3D Light Field

This feature presents a depth-rich Z-axis spatial effect with foreground-floating and deep-layer visual fields. Typical applications: labels.

14. Diffraction Lens Shaking Text

Characters appear as bright focal points that “shake” or move vertically and horizontally. Only suitable for outline fonts, and the character height must be ≥ 5 mm. Typical applications: ID cards, labels, security stripes.

15. Floating Texts (Dynamic Texts)

Characters arranged in linear arrays present a gentle side-to-side drifting motion. Brightness is lower than diffraction shaking text, but this technique supports smaller characters (≥ 2 mm). Typical applications: labels, security stripes, ID cards.

16. Character Morphing

A group of multiple deformed characters presents continuous left-right or size-changing variations. This is not a typical “flip-flop” effect but a true multi-frame optical transformation. Typical applications: labels, ID cards.

17. Asymmetric Diffraction

When rotated 180 degrees, the image reveals a different diffraction pattern or graphic. Typical applications: ID cards, labels.

18. Diffraction Relief (Color Relief)

A color relief texture created through fine grating modulation. Typical applications: packaging, labels, ID cards.

19. Silver Relief (Matte Relief)

A frosted or sandblasted relief effect is achieved through controlled scattering structures. Typical applications: packaging, labels.

20. Platinum Relief (Fresnel Relief)

A metallic relief appearance was produced using grayscale lithography. Typical applications: packaging, labels, ID cards. These twelve features represent the second group of visible optical anti-counterfeiting technologies currently available at Image Technology.

In the upcoming articles, we will continue introducing the remaining visible features, followed by our covert and forensic-level optical security technologies. Stay tuned for Part 3 of our Optical Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Series.
